Terms of Service
Last updated: July 21, 2026
1. Community use
PawsPins is a community map for sharing Pins about stray and companion animals. Use it to help animals and neighbors — not to harass people, spam, dox anyone, or post content unrelated to animal welfare.
2. Your account
You must agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy before creating an account. You are responsible for activity under your account. Keep credentials secure. We may suspend or ban accounts that violate these terms or abuse the platform (including mass flagging, fake sightings, hate speech, or posting others' private locations without a legitimate animal-welfare purpose).
You may permanently delete your account from Dashboard → Settings. Deletion cannot be undone. Your profile and public content (Pins, comments, uploads) are removed from the map and related surfaces. See our Privacy Policy for what may be retained for security and abuse prevention.
3. Content you post
You retain rights to your photos and text. By posting, you grant PawsPins a license to display that content on the map and related surfaces so the community can see it. Do not upload images or text you do not have permission to share.
Content on PawsPins is not permanent. We (and you, for your own Pins) may hide or remove posts, images, and comments. Hidden or removed content may stop appearing publicly even if copies briefly remain in backups or logs used for security and moderation.
4. Map pins and location risk
Attaching a map location to a Pin is optional, but when you do, those coordinates are visible to other users (and anyone who can open the public map). Treat pinning as publishing a place in public.
- Do not pin your home, workplace, school, or other personal addresses unless you intentionally want that place to be public.
- Do not pin someone else's home, workplace, or private location, or otherwise reveal where a person lives or stays, without a clear, legitimate animal-welfare reason and appropriate care for their safety and privacy.
- Prefer approximate public spots (street corners, parks, known feeding areas) when precise coordinates could endanger an animal or a person.
- You are responsible for the locations you publish. Misuse — including doxxing, stalking, or harassment via the map — may lead to content removal and account restrictions.
5. Safety
Map locations and Pins are user-generated and may be incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated. Exercise judgment in the field. PawsPins is not a substitute for veterinary care or emergency services.
6. Moderation
We may hide or remove posts, images, and comments that violate these terms, that are reported as inappropriate, or that we reasonably believe create safety or privacy risks (including harmful location pins). Reports are reviewed by moderators; abuse of the report tool may lead to account restrictions.
We do not promise that every report will result in action, or that content will remain available. Moderators may act without prior notice when needed to protect users, animals, or the community.
7. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of PawsPins after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
